Rick Nielsen began taking his show on the road when he was a teenager. So, why shouldn’t his once-in-a-lifetime exhibit go on the road, as well?

Exactly! The real question is where should Rick’s Picks: A Lifelong Affair With Guitars & Music go when it closes in April, 2013 at the Burpee Museum in Rockford, Illinois?

Rick said in a 1979 interview that, “the Budokan made us famous. And we made the Budokan famous.”

No wonder the Japanese press call Cheap Trick, “the American Beatles.” And that’s why we like the idea of shipping Rick’s Picks to Japan post-Rockford. After that, we are eyeing such fan hotspots as London, New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville for additional Rick’s Picks stops.

But now through April 10, 2013, Rick’s Picks is right here in Rick’s beloved hometown of Rockford, Illinois at the Burpee Museum. And, as Facebook fans of Rick’s Picks have proven on our Facebook page, you just never know who you might see at Rick’s Picks when you visit. After all, it’s a long way to Budokan, but it’s a hop, skip and a jump from Rick’s house to Burpee Museum.

So come and get it stateside as soon as you can!
